With consistent runs throughout the season and 100 cm fish landed each year, Jökla stands among Iceland’s most promising salmon rivers.

River Jökla offers a reliable run throughout the season, with strong numbers of multi-sea-winter fish arriving as early as June and continuing into August and even September. Each season, salmon over 100 cm are landed, and large fish make up a significant share of the catch. All happy to rise for surface flies!
As natural reproduction continues to rise and water conditions improve, the future looks bright for Jökla.
The 2025 season saw a total catch of 955 salmon.
